Hello! It always amuses me when people write these things in third person in an attempt to give the impression that they're not writing about themselves because they don't want to sound like an egomaniac, or something, but everybody knows they've written it themselves anyway and actually maybe it's just mildly disturbing to write about yourself in the third person and I think this sentence has far exceeded its life expectancy so let's kill off here shall we yes.....

SO. Konichii wa! I am me, and this is my profile. Just to clear up any possible confusion over that. My name is Hikari Dei. I'm 18 years old.
I play the piano and the violin and also sing a little bit - my voice is far from perfect and I'm way too shy to sing in front of people, but still, I love singing. Hmm, and I'm not actually sure if composing music is something I want to do for a living, but maybe I'd like to get into film-scoring or songwriting. Or maybe become a music therapist... but I'm not sure about that yet. I'll think about it more when I'm a grown-up. (*glare* I AM NOT OLD!)
\

Some musical people I really admire (and hope to actually learn from someday..) are Vienna Teng, Howard Shore, Yoko Kanno, James Horner, Stewart Copeland, Vanessa Carlton, Imogen Heap, Ludovico Einaudi, Kajiura Yuki, Jewel, Sarah McLachlan, Sarah Slean and many many others... including countless other musicians on the net, some of whom I've been lucky enough to have had the opportunity to collaborate with in the past! *waves to those people* Hello!

I hate writing serious stuff about myself and my music, so this will have to do! Onwards. woo...

Some things that I like/love/adore:

Films and TV - The Fifth Element, Amelie, Escaflowne, Rose of Versailles, Disney animated films, Ally McBeal and Black Books.

Books - Prospero's Children by Jan Siegel, The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle, The Chronicles of Prydain by Lloyd Alexander and those cooool books of drawings by Edward Monkton because they rock. Lots.

General Miscellaneous Stuff - sunshine, toast and honey, hand-written letters, cardmaking, ballet (but I'm not very good yet - still a beginner!!), butterflies, faeries, Greek Tragedy (Euripides wooo), the legend of Atlantis, castles, Absolute Balderdash (best board game ever), Final Fantasy (well... nostalgia, mostly, since I'm not really a gamer these days), picnics , night skies, camping, baking cakes and cookies and crumbles and stuff, and eating cereal at unconventional times of day mmmmm. I like things that make me laugh (which is um lots of things, really... ohdear.) And sleep is nice.

Software and Equipment:

- Propellerhead Reason 3.0 (using this more and more lately. All the 2006 songs were created at least partially with this software. *hearts*)
- Microsoft DirectMusic Producer 8.1 (my trusty freeware sequencer for many many years!! DMP, I *heart* you.)
- Syntrillium Cool Edit Pro 2.0
- Sennheiser e825S Microphone
- Yamaha PSR-550 Keyboard
- Yamaha EV204 Electric Violin

Unfortunately I don't have fancy mixing desky type things, because I'm rubbish at hardware and don't understand how to use most of it. Also, I am ... shall we say financially challenged, which is always a good reason to put off buying anything and avoiding the horror of trying to work out how to use it without blowing anything up.

Upcoming Lyrics, and Thank You posted Nov 14th 2006, 12:43AM
Music: Enya
Hey everyone! First off, thank you so much for such a friendly welcome! I was certainly suprised. I'm happy to be here.

Upcoming Lyrics:
~Sorrow's Sea~

Her every day is like her last,
Same situations, seen so many times before.
For her the future's like the past;
Bitter, broken, shattered, torn.

She can't remember the last time that she smiled,
No more emotions in her heart.
Caught in a web spun by her own relentless mind,
And it's breaking her apart.

This stretch of ocean is her life,
Her ships have sunk to sandy graves,
The lonely winds cry out their sorrow,
The warm horizon brings no joy,
A drowning wish beneath the waves.

And once again those diamond tears
Spill from those shining eyes, that still nobody knows.
Nobody precious in her heart,
No loving arms to hold her close.

This stretch of ocean is her life,
Her ships have sunk to sandy graves,
The lonely winds cry out their sorrow,
The warm horizon brings no joy,
A drowning wish beneath the waves.

This stretch of ocean is her life,
She's all alone to face the tide,
The lonely winds cry out their sorrow,
Driving to the empty skies,
Fading dreams where hope has died.

I have signed up to this site solely to let everyone know that this member is a charlatan. The woman responsible for the music here is Helen Trevillion: a dear friend of mine who is an artist down to the very centre of her soul and having her music stolen is tantamount to creative rape. As this member has not a creative bone in her body that is not something she'd be able to understand. She didn't even have the wit to come up with an original blurb.

If you have any descency in you at all (we know you don't) you will remove this account yourself. If you do not, I hope the website owners ban you for life.

Please stop stealing. Thank you. It is very hurtful for one thing, and for another it could get you into serious troule one day. Plagiarism is a crime.
